One of the things I love about smoothies is that it does not end with you chopping and blending your fruit, if you have bought a lot of fruits you almost have to think ahead most of the time. For example I went to the farmers market today and bought the whole market literally. I don’t have a big fridge/ freezer, you know like the ones you see on the American sitcoms.

So what does one do with all these fruits?
- Apples
- Banana
- Beetroot
- Green & Red Grapes
- Ginger
- Kiwi
- Papaya
- Pears
- Purple Cabbage
- Pineapple
- Strawberries
- Spinach
- Watermelon
So there is where I put my “ Smoothie thinking cap on” and get down to business
- You will need
- A chopping board
- A sharp knife
- Ziplock bags
- Felt Tip marker pens
Think about what you would like to blend then write them all down on the zip lock bags. Now to the real work which is chopping the fruit and vegetables.

Peel, chop, dice and prepare for bagging. I have added some peanuts to mine as I like to have peanuts in my green smoothies. Once you have chopped and cleaned all your fruits, the next step is to begin bagging them according to your taste.Remember you have already labelled your bags so placing the fruits and veg into the bags should be a doddle.
As seen above I have three various combinations of fruits and vegetables:
- Purple cabbage + Red Grapes + Apples + Water to be added as the base
- Spinach + Avocado + Ginger + Apple + Water to be added as the base
- Orange + Carrots + Ginger + Grapes + Apple.

Here’s a sneak peak of the contents in the green smoothie bag. I am sure you will agree that it look really appealing -Spinach + Pear + Green Grapes + Kiwi and water will be my base.
The final step will be to lock the bags and place them in the freezer.
When you are ready the next day simple wake up, hit the bag with a knife or on the kitchen work to separate the frozen fruit, place in your blender, add your base and you will have your delicious chilled smoothie.
