What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you see a purple smoothie?

For me it’s purple rain. The first time I made a purple smoothie, I was merely experimenting as I do and voila this beautiful and delicious smoothie was created.  I will also admit that in as much as I love  green smoothies, purple smoothies have won my heart. The one thing about a purple smoothie is you must get the ingredients right otherwise you’ll end up with a horrible blend as the culprit ” purple cabbage” is quite a powerful root vegetable.

The Purple Rain Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

1 Red Apple
12 Black grapes
A handful of purple cabbage
1 Orange
A thumb of ginger
Base : Water or Coconut Water for that added hydration

SWAPS

Swap Red apple for beetroot
Swap black grapes for green grapes
Swap orange for tangerine or pineapple

Swap Water for Coconut Water Or Cool Green tea
Keep purple cabbage

Keep red apple

Leave Ginger for that kick to ginger your swagga

PREPARATION

Add your washed purple cabbage  and coconut water to the blender, blend for 1min on full power , shake then add all the other ingredients.
Blend properly until all your contents are smooth. Add more coconut water if it’s too thick.

You can drink this 4 times a week and give yourself a month to see the difference.
Remember you have to put in the work to see the results.
