Have you ever added a few tomatoes to your smoothie before? Some might think this is a weird mix but it’s absolutely delicious and can make such a beautiful blend if you get the mix right. I know quite a few people who despise raw tomatoes and adding it to a smoothie will be a no no for them. But as you know I love to experiment. There are so many great benefits of adding tomatoes to your smoothies, one of which is that tomatoes are a ” natural blusher” – you can save money on your makeup and just drink tomato smoothies.
Tomatoes are a good source of vitamins A (as beta-carotene) and C. A large tomato contains about 431.3 milligrams of potassium (9% RDA). They also contain small amounts of the B vitamins (except B12), copper, calcium, iron and phosphorus as well as dietary fiber.
Tomatoes are also a rich source of chromium, which plays a role in regulating blood sugar. Studies have shown that tomatoes may provide protection against high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
